The Maine
Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a
Managing Director, Investment Strategy and
Risk. This management position works
to ensure the investment program is being run
effectively and within the policies set forth by the
Board, Executive Director and the Chief Investment
Officer.
The position works under the direction of and
prepares written recommendations to the CIO.
Duties include analysis of investment
strategy and implementation, risk management and
investment operations.
The position requires
comprehensive knowledge of asset classes and
economic risk factor models; considerable knowledge
of purposes, principles and theories of asset
management; and strong quantitative modeling skills.
A bachelor’s degree in business
administration, mathematics, engineering, computer
science or a related field is required, as well as a
minimum of 5 years of analyst level work experience
with a complex institutional or governmental
investment program.
Significant experience or academic research
in risk and portfolio management and familiarity
with portfolio modeling and asset-liability analysis
are also required.
A CFA Charterholder, CAIA Charterholder, MBA or
PhD in a related field is preferred.
Salary
range begins at $120,000 with excellent benefits.
