TITLE:             INVESTMENT ANALYST

SUMMARY:     This Investment Analyst works to support the multi-billion dollar investment program.  The position works under the direction of the Deputy Managing Director, Investments.   Duties include analysis of traditional and alternative investments.  The analyst will prepare written analysis of investment managers, asset classes, asset allocation, and service providers (i.e. custodians, brokers, transition managers, etc.).  The analyst will also be responsible for preparing management and board reports, responding to outside requests for information, and internal communications.  The position will also be the primary contact and liaison with the finance and accounting departments of MainePERS on all investment matters including the independent audit and financial reports.  A detailed understanding of the MainePERS portfolio is expected.  The incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment.

TITLE:                ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT     

SUMMARY:    This position performs essential accounts payable functions for the organization including maintaining an accounts payable subsidiary system, utilizing a purchase order tracking system, journalizing purchases and cash disbursements, posting entries related to accounts payable, verifying and reconciling subsidiary accounts, and processing invoices for payment in accordance with MainePERS policies and procedures.   This position is also responsible for maintaining all back-up documentation as it relates to the accounts payable position including maintenance of work procedure documentation.  Other job responsibilities include accounting for fixed assets, inventory tracking, amortization of prepaid contracts and various electronic banking functions.  All work is expected to be accomplished according to generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and methods.
