The March 2023 – Employer Update is now available.
March 2, 2023 – GLI Invoices
February 2023 invoices are now available in ESS. This invoice covers the premiums for the entire month of February (1-28). Please note, you will find your GLI Invoice under the Document section of ESS. If you have any questions about your bill, please email us. Reminder: Annual level changes are due April 15th.
August 11, 2021 – PLD Consolidated Plan Employers – Notice of Proposed Changes MainePERS Rule Chapter 8
Proposed changes to MainePERS Rule Chapter 803 may create exceptions to the one-time election rule that will allow employees with optional MainePERS membership, who previously declined, the opportunity to join. PLD Employers may have to take action for some of the changes to apply to their employees.

December 17, 2020 – PLD Rate and Rulemaking Information
Contribution rates for the Consolidated plan for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021 are now available.
A recent change to MainePERS Rule Chapter 803 that became effective on November 20, 2020 allows employers to join, rejoin or make plan changes effective the first of any month.

August 13, 2020 – FY 22 and FY23 Teacher Employer Contribution Rates
MainePERS has uploaded FY22 and FY23 employer contribution rates for teachers to our website. You can find them by clicking here. Remember, normal cost contributions are due on all eligible teacher members. For those teachers whose positions are funded by grants, the additional administration rate and UAL rate are also due. Please contact your employer services representative if you have questions.
July 27, 2020 – PLD Consolidated Plan Employers – Notice of Changes to MainePERS Rule Chapter 803
Effective July 18, 2020, changes were made to the rule that governs the PLD Consolidated Plan to provide temporary relief from the date requirements for local districts to join or make plan changes.

July 20, 2020 – FY 21 Employer Contribution Rates, Electronic Payments and Mailing Address
- Effective July 1, 2020, new FY 21 Employer contribution rates. Click the link for the contribution rates for State, Teacher and Consolidated PLD employers. Please update your payroll software.
- Reminder: Effective December 31, 2020, MainePERS will require all pension contribution and GLI premium payments to be made electronically, we encourage our employers who still pay by check to switch soon.
- When mailing any correspondence or payments to us, please use our P.O. Box address.

The Annual Statement of PLD Consolidated Plan Cost for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020 is now available to PLD Consolidated Plan employers in Employer Self Service under Documents.

April 16, 2020 – Internet Safety Caution
We understand that many of you may be working from home under pandemic stay-at-home recommendations. Please make sure that anyone interacting or uploading files to MainePERS maintains their home equipment with current anti-virus services to ensure no malware is uploaded into MainePERS.
January 21, 2020 – Making Electronic Payments
A letter and flier were sent to all employers not currently making electronic payments to MainePERS, discussing benefits of electronic payment and MainePERS’ requirement that all payments be made electronically by December 31, 2020.
