The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Member Services Representative. This work is focused on assisting members at various stages of their membership.  The work may include receiving enrollment paperwork and ensuring its completeness and accuracy; processing changes; retrieving account information for members and explaining the information to them, both over the telephone and in person. In addition, the position provides operational support by processing member requests including gathering information and verifying completeness prior to forwarding the results into the workflow process. This  position must follow through on a sequence of tasks while dealing with phone interruptions, utilize/maintain an organized file system, accurately enter data and verify the accuracy of own work as well as work of others.  Responsibilities may include determining membership, creditable service, costs for the purchase of creditable service, earnable compensation and service retirement benefits by obtaining and interpreting service records and other relevant documentation.  Other responsibilities may include the dissemination or receipt of information about ancillary benefits.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience in an office environment. 
  • Demonstrated successful customer service experience by phone and/or in person Familiarity with using Windows or web-based computer applications

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associates Degree

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Document Center Technician. This position is responsible for processing incoming documents in to the V3 imaging system for retention, retrieval, and triggering workflows to the business units. Other duties include responsibility for both incoming and outgoing mail providing support to business units in their daily work. The position is responsible for the functionality of a comprehensive document storage and retrieval program directed at assuring quality, security and integrity of data.  Duties include providing courier and mail services, tracks and processes incoming payments and maintains a stockroom of office supplies and forms.   Work is performed under the leadership of the unit Senior Technician and Director of Administration. The position also performs a full range of support tasks performed under general supervision according to established criteria and procedures.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • High school graduate.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly. 
  • Maine driver’s license in good standing.
  • Use of personal vehicle daily.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience using digital imaging equipment. 
  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
