The Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) is currently seeking an Employer Reporting Assistance Specialist.  This position assists employers in resolving inconsistencies in payroll and member profile data reported to MainePERS, as identified by the Employer Reporting Assistance Program (ERAP) staff. The incumbent is the primary contact with employer personnel with respect to findings once a review is completed by the ERAP. The incumbent will coordinate with employer services staff, retirement services staff, ERAP staff, the PLD Plan Administrator and others as appropriate to ensure that the findings are resolved properly and timely. The incumbent may be assigned other projects however the priority work is the resolution of these findings.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience –OR– any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) is currently seeking a Service Programs – Account Associate.  This position coordinates the day-to-day operations of an assigned MainePERS business unit.   This is a hands-on position and will assist in carrying out the day-to-day work in a timely and efficient manner as well as coordinating the activities of others.  The Account Associate oversees the accuracy and timeliness of data; reviews and analyzes information; responds to inquiries from members and employers; collaborates with other business areas to meet System objectives; and coaches and trains other staff as needed to ensure MainePERS standards of excellence in service delivery are met.  Assigned tasks are performed in order to generate financial, accounting, actuarial, employer, member and retiree benefits information interacting with employers, members, retirees and beneficiaries.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Associates Degree in Business or Accounting, with 2 or more years with progressively responsible administrative experience  OR
  2. A six (6) year combination of post-secondary education, training and or progressively responsible administrative/technical experience performing complex tasks which demonstrate analytical, financial and data gathering skills.

Preferred qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, insurance or related field, prior work experience in a setting that requires accuracy and attention to detail; experience as an effective team leader or supervisor for two (2) years; and proficiency with current technologies.  Prior experience with presentations and public speaking is strongly preferred.
