The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Disability Services Technician. This work is focused on providing clerical and technical support to the Disability Specialists and Associate Specialists to ensure timely case management.  An employee in this classification must apply knowledge of the Disability related statutes and regulations to assist members/recipients and employers in the disability application and review processes.  Responsibilities include providing general information about the Disability Program, maintaining statistical tracking on case management, coordinating medical records, verifying actively seeking work activity, collecting data and support services.  This is a key position in a fast pace active work unit where team coordination is essential to keeping disability applications and reviews flowing smoothly through the process.

Minimum qualifications:
A high school diploma is required plus a four (4) year combination of education, training and/or progressively responsible office clerical experience (i.e. performing administrative and/or moderately complex clerical tasks.)

Preferred qualifications:  
Associates Degree in a related field
