The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking an Information Security Manager. The Information Security Manager leads the Information Security Program at MainePERS, to ensure accountability and responsibility for safeguarding the confidential information and sensitive data, assets and intellectual property that MainePERS owns and/or maintains on behalf of MainePERS’ affiliates, partners, members, retirees, employers and end-users. This role is critical to ensuring that MainePERS is continuously in a strong and proactive security position as it provides the vital services at the core of its mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, computer science or similar, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field.  

CISSP or related certifications (or ability to obtain such certifications within 1 year of employment).

8-10 years in a computer related field, with at least 3 in Information Security.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business, management, computer science or similar.

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking an Employer and Member Information Business Unit Leader. Under the general direction of a senior manager, this position is responsible for understanding and providing guidance regarding all the work that must be accomplished in the Employer and Member Information Unit, where focused responsibilities reside. This position is the subject matter expert regarding the processes and legal provisions that apply to completion of that work. The incumbent is the primary technical resource relied on by staff and management regarding work that is within the scope of this position. Success in this position requires that technical and interpersonal skill be consistently exercised in a manner that guarantees the delivery of expected results and ongoing collaboration with their Team Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in a relevant field with at least three (3) years of experience as the subject matter expert regarding the duties described in this classification statement; OR,  

At least 5-years of experience as the subject matter expert regarding the duties described in this classification statement

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Member Services Representative. This work is focused on assisting members at various stages of their membership.  The work may include receiving enrollment paperwork and ensuring its completeness and accuracy; processing changes; retrieving account information for members and explaining the information to them, both over the telephone and in person. In addition, the position provides operational support by processing member requests including gathering information and verifying completeness prior to forwarding the results into the workflow process. This  position must follow through on a sequence of tasks while dealing with phone interruptions, utilize/maintain an organized file system, accurately enter data and verify the accuracy of own work as well as work of others.  Responsibilities may include determining membership, creditable service, costs for the purchase of creditable service, earnable compensation and service retirement benefits by obtaining and interpreting service records and other relevant documentation.  Other responsibilities may include the dissemination or receipt of information about ancillary benefits.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma is required plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience in an office environment. 

Demonstrated successful customer service experience by phone and/or in person Familiarity with using Windows or web-based computer applications

Preferred qualifications:
Associates Degree

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking an Employer Services Technician.  This work is focused on providing technical support to the State of Maine, teacher and participating local district employers within the Employer Services Division.  The incumbent must have knowledge of the statutes governing and the rules and regulations pertaining to the System.  Responsibilities include determining compliance in reporting through review and analysis of payroll report information and forms.  Incumbent also serves as primary liaison for a number of assigned employer payroll reporting contacts.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma is required plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience in an office environment or A.S. degree in accounting or business administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

Office work experience that demonstrates data gathering skills, the ability to apply complex mathematical computations, familiarity with the use of computers and specialized software, and the ability to retrieve information by utilizing a wide variety of resources.
