MainePERS Benefit Estimator

Terms of Use

The MainePERS Benefit Estimator is provided to allow you to project service retirement benefits in a regular (non-special) retirement plan and to aid in long-term planning. Determining a final retirement benefit can be a complicated task, influenced by many factors and variables, including plan requirements, the benefit option you select, and if you retire before your normal retirement age (early retirement).

Please note, if your benefit will include service under more than one MainePERS plan, you will need to make two separate calculations and combine the results.

Estimator results are based on the information you provide and are non-binding. The results are an estimate of the annual and monthly service retirement benefit of a regular plan member under the Full Benefit Option. This estimator does not verify eligibility. It cannot replace MainePERS’ actual calculation of benefits when you retire. To request a formal benefit estimate, including amounts for each available payment option, contact MainePERS within a year of your retirement date. Please see the applicable member handbook for more information about your plan requirements and benefit options. The Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset calculators may also be of assistance to those who may have contributed to Social Security during their work history.
