Health and Dental Insurance Premium Direct Billing Information

For some of our members who have health and dental premiums deducted from their pensions, the February pension deposit will likely be larger than expected.

Due to a regrettable error in payroll processing, regular deductions for the following health care premiums were not withheld from the February monthly benefit payments:

            Anthem Medicare Preferred health premiums,

Maine School Management health premiums, and

            Maine School Management dental premiums

We have been in touch with both Anthem and Maine School Management, and your coverage should not be affected due to this error provided you pay the direct bill for those February premiums.  Current information about billing and paying the February premiums is as follows:

Anthem Medicare Preferred health premiums

On March 6, 2025, Anthem sent invoices for the February payment directly to those who have been affected. Payment should be made according to those instructions.

For any questions about this direct billing or to make a payment over the telephone, please contact Anthem at 844-963-0436 or the Anthem Customer Service number on the back of your health insurance ID card.

Maine School Management Association health and dental premiums

On March 11, 2025, the invoices for Maine School Management February premiums were mailed directly to those who have been affected. Payments should be made according to those instructions. For any questions about this direct billing or to make a payment over the telephone, please contact Maine School Management at 207-626-5446.

Those insured for health and dental through Maine School Management Association may have the option of paying the premium through the Maine School Management Association online portal, https://msma.androgov.com/. Note: Customer name is the insured member and the division number for all members is: 204-Retiree.

We apologize for this error and have reviewed our processes to prevent any future occurrence. You can expect these premiums to be deducted as usual with the March benefit payment.
