At its meeting on February 11, 2010, the MainePERS Board of Trustees held a public rulemaking hearing on the following rule.  

Chapter 702 – Appeals of Final Decisions of the Executive Director

At its meeting on January 14, 2010, the MainePERS Board of Trustees adopted several rules as follows:  

Amended existing rules:  

Chapter 103 – Qualified Domestic Relations Orders  

Chapter 303 – Actuarial Factors Tables  

New rules:  

Chapter 411 – Eligible Rollover Distributions  

Chapter 412 – Limitations on Compensation  

Chapter 413 – Limitations on Contributions and Benefits  

Chapter 415 – Contributions, Benefits and Service Credit with Respect to Qualified Military Service  

The amendments to the existing rules and the new rules are necessary in order for the defined benefit plans administered by MainePERS to maintain their qualified plan status under the Internal Revenue Code.
